Stay at Home Order Running Challenges

EPIC adventures in the spring during the Stay at Home Order in Michigan!!! I gave myself a running challenge for each week of the Stay at Home Order.
❤❤❤

Here's 12 weeks of EPIC running challenges and adventures!!

March 15th through June 5th... 1,631 miles in 12 weeks!
(Technically, June 7th is when I stopped counting the mileage, since Michigan opened back up on June 8th.)

All of my races were cancelled thru June, so I decided to create my own races and challenges with the help of my son... Harry also designed medals and belt buckles, and Kim created them for us!! :) I did participate in a few virtual races, and I won Most Creative Indoor Race too.
(Yes, I am well aware that they are not official races. I count my total for me, and I LOVE to run.)

During these 12 weeks of running challenges, I was very fortunate and got to share my running journey many times.. I was on the local Fox17 News twice. Then, I received the Most Creative Indoor Race award on a YouTube show for the Aravaipa Strong Virtual Race, and I got to "hang out" with some famous runners. I also had a podcast with Running 4 Soles... Finally, I was featured in the Canadian Running Magazine and Insider News!!!!!! WOW!! I am extremely proud. I hope to lead by example and show people that they are capable of anything. I hope to inspire people to do something great, whatever that may be..

Sasquatch Virtual 100 Mile Run!

Sasquatch Virtual 100 Mile Run!!!
June 3-5, 2020

Well... That's a wrap, for now!! 12 weeks of EPIC running challenges complete... Final challenge... I completed my friend's (Kim Levinsky) Sasquatch Virtual 100 Mile Race for my final running challenge of the Stay at Home Order in Michigan! I took 3 days to complete it and took my time, finished Friday.. (33.5 miles each day) It was another backyard and at home run!! That concludes the 12 weeks of EPIC running challenges during the pandemic closure/shutdowns and Stay at Home Order.. WOW!!! I gave myself a running challenge for each week of the Stay at Home Order, and I did it. AWESOME! Yes, literally, 12 weeks of EPIC running challenges! 🙂

Sooooo... It has been 12 weeks of EPIC running challenges, while working/teaching preschool from home/online AND homeschooling Harry simultaneously... I pushed myself to the limit, and I learned that I am truly limitless. It was awesome. So, I have always been very unique and creative. I always think "outside the box" too. I like to be different or a little weird, I guess. Ha! 🤷‍♀️ I'm not fast or elite or professional, but I never give up. I have intense determination. I go out there and make it happen. I love what I do. Anyways, I hope that my crazy running challenges during the "Stay at Home Order" have inspired others... I want people to know that they can overcome and achieve anything. YOU CAN DO ANYTHING. YOU are possible. Your goals are possible. Repeat, you can do anything. ❤

I hope to inspire people to do something great, whatever that may be.

Finally... Here's the math, calculations, measurements, etc... ⬇️⬇️

Wednesday- 8 miles inside the living room, 26 miles in the backyard
Thursday- 8 miles in the living room, 26 miles in the backyard
Friday- 8 miles in the living room, 26 miles in the backyard

Lap measurements: ⬇️⬇️

Inside Living Room Laps: ⬇️⬇️
I measured the distance around my living room with a tape measure. It is about 16 feet long and 9 feet wide. That is 50 feet is perimeter, which means 106 laps per miles!! 😜😜

(Math problems-
Perimeter, 16+16+9+9= 50 feet. 5,280 feet in a mile. 5,280÷50= 105.6, round up to make sure, 106! 106 laps for a mile!! 😜😜)

Wednesday- 8 miles, 848 laps
Thursday- 8 miles, 848 laps
Friday- 8 miles, 848 laps

Backyard Laps: ⬇️⬇️
It is 0.032 miles and 172 feet in perimeter around my driveway. I measured the driveway out with a tape measure and watch. 75 feet long and 11 feet wide, 172 feet in perimeter.. That's 31 laps for a mile.

(Math problems-
Perimeter- 75+75+11+11= 172 feet. 5,280 feet in a mile. 5,280÷172= 30.7. Round up to make sure, 31 laps per mile. 😜)

Wednesday- 26 miles, 806 laps
Thursday- 26 miles, 806 laps
Friday- 26 miles, 806 laps

Calculations: ⬇️⬇️
Same format as my previous backyard and indoor 100s...
I used my watch for tracking mileage and step count. Harry and I also kept track with tally marks on paper. We counted the laps, and then we put a tally mark down for each mile.

Example-- In the backyard, 1 for 1 lap, 2 for 2 laps, etc... It's 31 laps for a mile in the backyard, so when we counted up to 31, we would make a tally.
